The brief
Public, rentable learning pods that schools and institutions book to teach differently. Each is fitted with an LED screen, benches, and computer workstations.
The move
A classroom in a public park has to be two things at once: open all day, and secure all night. So the pod has no front wall, it has a front that folds away. The whole face concertinas back and the room becomes an open pavilion; at closing it folds shut into a locked box. The perforated orange screen does the rest, throwing shade through the afternoon and making the pod recognisable from the far end of the park.
